Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for management and processing of international creditors and Heavy Truck invoicing. Also, to perform daily financial activities such as data entry, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations, while supporting month-end processes and assisting with compliance and financial reporting. Key duties also include maintaining fixed asset registers, using ERP systems, and performing cost analysis to support production activities. You will need strong Excel skills, attention to detail, time management abilities, and foundational accounting knowledge to support the finance team and ensure data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Data & Reporting:Enter financial data, maintain accurate ledgers, and assist in preparing financial statements and reports, such as profit and loss (P&L) statements
- Accounts Management: Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
- Cashflow and creditor management: Update of cashflow and negotiation of creditor payments
- Cost Accounting Support: Assist with the analysis of manufacturing and production costs, comparing standard vs. actual costs, and explaining variances to support cost-effectiveness.
- Month-End & Compliance: Support the month-end closing process by preparing journals and helping with tax-related lodgments like BAS and GST.
- Fixed Assets & Payroll: Maintain the fixed asset register and assist with payroll journals and analysis
- Auditing & Planning: Support internal and external audits and assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- ERP & Excel Proficiency: Operate ERP systems and utilise advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, and formulas to manage and analyse financial data.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: A degree in Accounting or a related field, or at least an associate degree is preferred.
- Experience: 2-3+ years of accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Foundational Knowledge: A strong understanding of accounting principles.
