Clark Equipment Australia Pty Ltd is a large, Australian owned company which designs, manufactures and distributes a range of industrial and material handling equipment including the Omega Series of Heavy Forklift Trucks. Our aim is to remain at the forefront of industry standards by building and designing Omega trucks for Australian conditions – Built Smart, Built Tough and Built Here. 

 

We have an exciting opportunity available within the Engineering department at our Hornsby site for a Senior Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineer. You will be joining a dedicated engineering team working on a range of products though primarily on the Omega heavy lift trucks, container handling mobile equipment from 12 tonne to 50 tonne and purpose built equipment for mines and steel manufacturing.

 

As the Senior Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineer, the right candidate will have responsibility for the following:

- Equipment specification and recommendations to meet customer requirements
- Hydraulics design and specification of large mobile plant
- Conducting technical investigations and the development of reports to include options, recommendations and BOM, as a minimum.
- Reviewing engineering design tasks and conduct technical design reviews.
- Providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for all engineering matters and review draft work plans, work schedules and work lists relating to engineering work and provide comments, recommendation and advice.
- Verifying the material condition of the systems and equipment and verifying engineering solutions to solve equipment obsolescence problems as required.
- Undertake drafting of technical risk assessments using risk management tools
- Develop system requirements for engineering changes and submit entries in our internal systems as appropriate
- Ensuring Designs are delivered on time and manage projects in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Identify design issues and resolving issues as build proceeds
- Dealing with external consultants

 

A good knowledge of Materials Handling equipment is not essential, but it is desirable. A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant.
